Learn the basics of Markdown
Learn the fundamentals of Markdown, a simple, text-to-html tool used to format writing on the Web.
Markdown is a text-to-HTML conversion tool for web writers. Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then convert it to structurally valid XHTML (or HTML).
In this course, you'll learn how to write common markdown syntax to create headlines, lists, tables, links, images, and block quotes. We'll then get into some of the different implementations of the language, such as GitHub Flavored Markdown.
Markdown is free software, available under a BSD-style open source license.
