They created their own hybrid of instrumental music in the '60s and '70s, and it sure paid off! Bassist/cellist Eldee Young and drummer/percussionist Isaac Red Holt were two-thirds of the Ramsey Lewis trio, which had a huge mid-60s hit with THE IN CROWD. As a duo (and occasional trio with pianist Hysear Don Walker), they crossed the boundaries of jazz, rock & pop to create their own hybrid of instrumental music. Considered a holy grail of musical sources by hip-hop fans, their timeless music is enjoyed by anyone who truly loves music.
