As we close in on the discovery of the 2,000th planet outside our solar system, or exoplanet, the Sky at Night investigates the techniques that are revealing so much about these alien worlds. The programme asks if we are really any closer to finding another world like our own - a second Earth.

David Dimbleby presents live coverage from the Cenotaph in Whitehall, where Her Majesty the Queen will lead the nation's Remembrance Sunday commemorations. The prime minister, leading politicians, representatives of many of the world's religions, dignitaries from around the Commonwealth and military leaders join thousands of veterans from countless conflicts for the Two Minute Silence at 11.00, the service and march past. All gather to remember those men and women who have died serving their country. Sophie Raworth will meet veterans and those taking part in the march past to hear their remarkable stories.

The Sun is always changing and NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory is always watching. Launched on February 11, 2010, SDO keeps a 24-hour eye on the entire disk of The Sun, with a prime view of the graceful dance of solar material coursing through The Sun's atmosphere, the corona. SDO captures images of The Sun in 10 different wavelengths, each of which helps highlight a different temperature of solar material. Different temperatures can, in turn, show specific structures on The Sun such as solar flares, which are gigantic explosions of light and x-rays, or coronal loops, which are stream of solar material travelling up and down looping magnetic field lines. Scientists study these images to better understand the complex electromagnetic system causing the constant movement on The Sun, which can ultimately have an effect closer to Earth, too. Flares and another type of solar explosion called coronal mass ejections can sometimes disrupt technology in space. Moreover, studying our closest star is one way of learning about other stars in the galaxy. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. built, operates, and manages the SDO spacecraft for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington, D.C.

Believe it or not this is the first serious documentary on boredom. Director Albert Nerenberg (LAUGHOLOGY, STUPIDITY) asks why the subject of boredom has been so religiously avoided and shows that boredom isn't what you think it is. The film's breakthrough research suggests boredom is likely a state of stress. It may also be killing you. Perhaps the powers that be would rather you not know that, especially if you're inside some kind of educational institution or dead end job. The film addresses whether we are actually more bored in today's society, surrounded by stimulating media or if the media saves us from this state of lethargy and disinterest. It explores how boredom actually produces stress and that MRI technology has shown that being bored actually speeds up the brain process and increases heart rate. Despite being satirical in tone, this film also examines how boredom negatively impacts education and how it can even play a large part in addiction and, more obviously, risk-taking. In this entertaining romp Nerenberg blows the lid off the boredom conspiracy and reveals a culture that not only tolerates boredom but actually promotes it.
