I always thought that I cannot draw. While other types of art (like photography or music) came to me easily, drawing was always a challenge. So when I decided to create some travel maps to support a photography blog, I had to come up with an easy process that I could follow, without a lot of free drawing.
Hi, I am George, and I am a lover of all forms of art. And since last year, also an amateur illustrator. I did not study art and I am not a professional illustrator, so my process is tailored to people with little experience in drawing but who still want to create cool stuff. Creating beautiful illustrations is not just for professionals. It can be for everyone.
In this class, I will guide you through my process of creating a map poster, from concept to final exporting and sharing on social media and Skillshare. We will start with a short overview of the tools that we will use in Affinity Designer. We will then choose our subject and a color scheme. The drawing process will start with outlining the map, creating an illustration of a landmark, and adding details to our poster. We will finish with a small lesson on exporting and sharing your work on social media.
