My Commander 3.3

My Commander 3.3 | 5.1 Mb

Your computer is an intricate system of folders and files, sometimes not very well organized and more than often quite hard to navigate through. If you also want to perform some kind of operations on them, such as renaming a few files in batch or moving them to another location, you end up in an even more uncomfortable position.

My Commander simplifies the whole process by delivering a dual-panel interface that transforms file movement into a simple drag-and-drop operation.

Easily compress, delete or rename files and folders

Beside the useful navigation capabilities, My Commander comes with all the usual functions as well. Using the available buttons, or the customizable keyboard shortcuts, you can perform a wide array of operations on your data.

File compression can be realized in almost any popular format, such as ZIP, GZ, 7Z or TAR and you can add as many files as you need to an archive.

Browse FTP servers and remotely connect to other computers

My Commander can explore FTP servers as well, if you enter the required address and password to access it. This enables you to use the application as a FTP client and download or upload files between the server and your computer.

Remote connection is also possible from within the utility, as you can connect to another machine and browse its folder tree with the same mobility as you would on your own. To use this function, you need to know the name of the target computer and the username and password required to log into the operating system.

Final impression

The comprehensive amount of functions and capabilities built into My Commander offers you a wide range of options and possibilities. Beside the classic copy, paste and delete operations, the application comes with many other utilities, including FTP support and network mapping, which set it apart from other such software solutions.

The tabbed interface and dual-panel view perspective is powerful and user-friendly at the same time, since it is intuitive and easy-to-use. All in all, there are very few things that My Commander does not do, which make it a must-have application for those who want complete control over their files.

Features

Map folder as drive:
• MyCO allows you to create virtual drives by mapping your favorite folder to a empty drive letter. The virtual drive looks as a hard disk and behaves as a real hard drive. It makes you save time to browse for a folder with a long file path, and then provides you prompt access to the folder.
Shredder:
• In order to remove files permanently (or shred) from your system you have to use a program that is capable of rewriting the files with random series of binary data multiple times. This process is often called shredding. MyCO supports smart shredding. That way, the actual content of the file has been overwritten and the possibilities to recover a shredded file are eliminated.
JumpList:
• The Windows 7 taskbar provides enhanced functionality for starting programs directly from the taskbar button by using Jump Lists. You access a Jump List by right-clicking a taskbar button or by clicking the arrow next to a program in the Start menu.
