What is PaintBucket? - A simple-to-use paint program which can also be used for scanning documents or images, converting document images to text (OCR), and for all manner of image processing. Has built-in shapes, image stamps, lines and arrows, highlighting, image filters, etc. Manage web graphics or your personal photos. Can handle the latest WEBP graphics format images.

For the function (OCR) to work correctly, when starting the program, it is necessary in the settings to specify the path to the Tesseract folder (attached to the assembly) and not change the folder location. The application is also portable.

Scan a document or image by clicking on the "Scan" button. If "Quick scan mode" is checked (via the "File" menu) then an image will be immediately scanned when clicking on the "Scan" button. "Quick scan mode" uses settings made in the "Quick scan settings" tab of the "Settings" dialog. Otherwise a detailed dialog will be presented, using the Twain scanner interface. Note that the scanner must be turned on, and you may need to have installed the necessary drivers for your scanner.
Open an existing image file with the shortcut key, Ctrl-O, or via the toolbar button, or the File menu.
Zoom in and out using your mouse scroll wheel, or using the plus and minus keys.
Selections can be either rectangular or freeform/freehand.
The magic wand tool can be used to automatically select a region that has the same colour as the pixel you click on, and with the set tolerance.
