Yuja Wang - The Vienna Recital (2024)

Yuja Wang’s next album, set for release on 3 May, is a further historical milestone along the soaring trajectory of the pianist’s extraordinary career. It features the recording of the eclectic program from her April 2022 recital at the Konzerthaus Vienna. The selection spans compositions from early Classicism to improvisatory jazz piano, displaying the pianist’s fiery virtuosity in compositions by Ligeti, her mature musicality in masterpieces by Beethoven and Scriabin, and her musical imagination in beautiful miniatures by Albéniz. Wang comments: “I believe that every program should have its own life and reflect my current feelings.”

A third pre-release track is now available, where Yuja Wang performs the improvisatory jazz piano piece Prelude No. 10 by Nikolai Kapustin.
