‘Wilfully Adrift' follows David's life path through pain, loss and self discovery. Embracing his ability to live a idiosyncratic lifestyle, David has chosen to follow the path of a ‘Songman' akin to his Indigenous Grandfather. His contemporary nomadic lifestyle gives him the power to touch people with his music and story on a personal level. A new album currently in production, focuses on earlier years with songs written in a time of self discovery. Themes of loss, substance abuse, self harm and abandonment have come full circle and burn with relevance with David's recent loss of his younger brother taking his own life. Unreleased songs both written during his time of living abroad finding a connection with his English heritage and in his formative years as a young Indigenous musician are revisited with a mature perspective and shine with a new raw brilliance.
