Paint Styles, also known as Paint Layers, lets you create beautiful and unique watercolors by stacking watercolor layers, mixing color tones and textures, and detailing details. No artistic skills required! Every photo posted in Watercolor Studio is automatically converted to watercolor with full control over settings. While it's great to have complete control over what paint does on paper, some of the most beautiful effects come from experimentation. So have fun and try not to be too careful. You will be amazed at some of the pictures you receive.

A watercolor portrait is a wet, dry paint with all the characteristics of a real watercolor. Fine-tune portrait detail and tints, then smooth color using the fluid slider while maintaining sharpness and detectable color.

Landscape Watercolor is abstract, free water with wet paint, great for landscapes. Use it to distribute illegible details as if they were saturated with water for a loose wet watercolor paint with color that blends together.

Ink Wash transforms photographs into soft, delicate paintings of one to three colors. Choose from a library of washes to create ultra-ink paintings, or light monotone. Combine with Color Washes and Outline Layers for an expressive piece filled with artistic character.

Liquefy is a transparent layer used for thinning and bleeding. Use a Liquefy Layer above one or more layers, then brush with continuous motion to blend areas where needed. This subtle effect softens areas like a real brush submerged in water.

Color Wash - Blends color washes and handcrafted textures into painting while retaining some or all of the original color. Use them to warm up, cool down, or illuminate light and color throughout the painting in as much control as possible. Use Render Modes to combine washings with watercolors, inkwells, and planks for breathtaking unique pieces of art.

An outline defines edges throughout the image. Choose between circular watercolor accents, or harsh ink in them. Additional modes allow you to harmoniously combine contours with a drawing, or create solid ones that stand out.

Spatter adds liquid stains that actually look wet and runny. Use them to add texture, age, and bits of color throughout the painting.

Canvas is the foundation of your painting. On this layer use the settings to change the canvas style (paper). Choose between cold press, hot press, or rough texture. Here you can also increase the granulation of the pigment in watercolor and how the darkness or lightening of the transparency of the color appears on the paper.
