    Forced March Films - Blitzed: Nazis on Drugs (2018) 720p WEB-DL x264 AC3 MVGroup

    Language: English
    58 min 3 s | 816 MiB | 1 966 kb/s | Matroska | 1280x720 | E-AC-3 48.0 kHz 2 channels 224 kb/s
    Genre: War | Documentary

Inspired by Norman Ohler's revelatory book, "Blitzed: Drugs In The Third Reich", the film reveals how both Hitler and Nazi Germany were heavily addicted to drugs. As Ohler reveals, the entire Third Reich was permeated with drugs: cocaine, heroin, morphine and, most of all, methamphetamines, or crystal meth, used by everyone from factory workers to housewives, and crucial to troops' resilience - even partly explaining German victory in 1940. The recently unearthed journals of Hitler's personal doctor, Theodore Morell, suggest that the Fuhrer was a full-fledged addict, taking an assortment of drugs including cocaine, opiates, steroids. Meanwhile, the entire nation of Germany was binging on speed. This was most prevalent on the battlefield, where the drug was systematically distributed to soldiers in order to transform the military ranks into seemingly unstoppable fighting machines.

COVID-19 is far from the first pandemic to wreak havoc in the world. A long line of infectious diseases have devastated and in some cases destroyed entire societies. Almost all of them started in animals and made the jump to humans.

We are terrified of pandemics. And with good reason. Infectious diseases have cost the lives of countless people over the centuries, devastating families, towns, and even societies. The Black Death spread across Europe and Asia in the 14th century leaving millions dead in its wake. Between the 15th and 18th centuries, European colonists brought smallpox to the Americas, the Pacific region and to Australia. In Europe, the 17th century saw a series of major epidemics. And at the end of the First World War, more people died of the Spanish flu than on the battlefield. This documentary examines the causes of these epidemics - whether it be lack of hygiene, interaction with animals, overcrowding, or the growth of cities - and how people travelling helped to spread disease and promote pandemics. It also sheds a light on the impact these infectious diseases have had on politics and societal change. Today, the world is facing COVID-19.

Most famously, she helped sell over a million copies of FHM magazine after her naked image was projected onto the Houses of Parliament. Then over the next 20 years, things took a turn for the worse: she suffered post-natal depression, alopecia and was sectioned under the mental health act. In 2014 she even ended up sleeping rough on a park bench. How did this happen?

Gail takes a tell-all journey into her past. Travelling to her hometown of Edinburgh, she meets friends, relatives and medical professionals and asks why she has such extremes of emotion? And how can that explain her story? The result is an honest and deeply personal exploration of mental health, self-harm, anorexia and depression, as well as a stark reminder of how the world has changed since her 1990s heyday.
