    • Performance improvements in AE workflow with Allow Resizing disabled.
    • In After Effects it now defaults to Allow Resizing enabled
    • New Sharpen Radius control for fine tuning the details
  • BCC+ DeNoise ML and BCC+ UpRes ML:
    • Optimized initialization on macOS 14 (Sonoma). No more long delays when first using a filter on a new system or after an update.
  • FX Editor Performance:
    • Up to 25% faster playback on multi-input effects such as transitions.
  • BCC+ Light Flicker:
    • Extend Speed slider max range to 200

Continuum 2024 v17.0.3 (BCC 17.0.3) for Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro was released on 2/16/2024.

Continuum 2024 v17.0.3 for Adobe supports the following Adobe host applications:

macOSX 10.15, 11.x, 12.x, 13.x, 14.x (up to OS version at time of Continuum release and as appropriate for the host version in use). Continuum supports running natively on ARM64 native chipsets for After Effects and Premiere Pro versions which themselves support running natively on ARM64. Note that the Machine Learning (ML) features require macOS 12 or higher.

  • Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro CC 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 (up to versions released at time of Continuum release)

Windows 10 x64, Windows 11:

  • Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro CC 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 (up to versions released at time of Continuum release)

Additional Hardware and OS Requirements

  • On macOS the Machine Learning (ML) filters require macOS 12 (Monterey) or higher
  • On Windows the Machine Learning (ML) filters require a DirectX 12 capable device and either NVIDIA or AMD cards are strongly recommended.
  • On Windows the BCC+ filters prefer NVIDIA or AMD cards for full GPU support

Training:

Numerous resources are available for helping you get the most out of Boris Continuum Complete.

  • Help documents for individual BCC effects are accessible directly from each plug-in’s UI in most hosts.  The entire BCC Help Documentation library is also available on the Boris FX website, including access to a downloadable version for browsing Offline BCC Help Documentation.
  • BorisTV video tutorials cover a huge range of topics from introductions to the Fundamentals, to deep training Webinar Replays, to in-depth looks at  key effects and techniques.

Continuum 2024 v17.0.3 for Adobe - Compatibility Notes:

While in general your previously saved projects should render identically in the newer version, bug fixes and quality improvements can sometimes change the look of older projects. While every effort is made to ensure project compatibility, the following notable areas may see some change to the look of previously saved projects.

  • Premiere - The fix for incorrect location of point pickers when applied to clips whose size is smaller than the sequence means that old projects with such effects will render differently and might require tweaks to point picker locations.
  • BCC+ Smoke, or BCC+ Atmospheric Glow - The fix for frame rate handling may change the animation speed of Orbs and Smoke in some projects
  • BCC+ Super LED - The fix for Fade Map nonlinearity will change the size of some faded bulbs
  • BCC+ Super LED - The fix for Gradient shift in Fade Map will change the size of some faded bulbs
  • BCC+ Super LED - The fix for Glow Under LED option will cause reduced glow intensity when that feature is enabled
  • BCC Particle Illusion - The addition of World Z Offset and Emitter Z Offset host params might change some 2D projects
  • BCC Particle Illusion - Various fixes for particle animation may cause changes in particle details, although the overall look and feel should remain similar

Continuum 2024 v17.0.3 for Adobe - Known Issues and Limitations:

  • CO-1298 - Mocha PixelChooser splines can render distorted or in the wrong location in filters that use “Avoid Clipping” or similar mechanisms to expand the source layer dimensions.  As a workaround the layer expansion should be done prior to the effect in a precomp.
  • CO-2296 - The Hide Disabled Parameters preference exposes host-side UI refresh issues in AE and Premiere.  We are working with Adobe to resolve these issues.  As a workaround the Hide Disabled Parameters preference can be disabled to revert to “graying out” parameters instead of hiding them.
  • CO-2344 - Title Studio - projects with Cinema 4D files that reference host tracks as textures can cause slow or stalled refreshes in Premiere.
  • CO-6682 - Optical Stabilizer does not stabilize correctly on trimmed clips in Premiere
  • CO-8475 - Particle Illusion - PI layer Sync with Ae 3D lost when using Y Rotation keyframes
  • CO-8858 - Particle Illusion - Ae does not refresh renders if PI is using mask / text via mask picker menu and the mask on an alternate layer is changed. (Change a param or purge cache to force refresh.)
  • CO-9391 - BCC+ Cross Processing and BCC+ Color Paste clamp in HDR
  • CO-9370 - BCC+ Color Gradient - ND Brightness feature ignores alpha
  • CO-10220 - BCC+ Crash Zoom Dissolve - angle animation is not as smooth as it should be
  • CO-10213 - FX Editor preview sometimes shows incorrect colors after changing OCIO colorspace multiple times
  • CO-11705 - BCC+ Mocha Parameter Tracking of clips trimmed on the front end requires first moving those trimmed clips into nested sequences in Premiere
  • CO-11779 - BCC+ Transform - Some geometries show more aliased filtering than expected
  • CO-11328 - BCC VR Blur can cause clip to become black
  • CO-12020 - Mocha Param Tracker appears to track correctly in interlaced projects, but rendered point locations are incorrect. As a workaround you can track in a progressive version of the clip and export/re-import the tracking data in the interlaced timeline, or temporarily convert the project to progressive while tracking and then convert back to interlaced.
  • CO-12056 - AE - BCC+ Lens flare occlusion region is not correct when applied to a text layer. Precomping test layers before using occlusion layers is recommended as a workaround.
  • CO-11954 - A small number of Title Studio presets render incorrect results at 4k or higher
  • CO-12370 - BCC+ DeNoise ML and BCC+ UpRes ML either render black or crash on Intel GPUs
  • CO-12584 - Particle Illusion - Stage/Render size doesn’t match host under some conditions. Close/Reopen UI to refresh.
