iNDEx Got it. It's a good idea, but not everyone will like it. I think it's a 50/50 split.
Sure, I'm just trying to help by making sure we're all on the same page.
I like the point by [Login to see the link]; the idea of blog posts abbreviating the description to 500 words with a simple down-arrow might be helpful for some. For reference, this post is about 350 words.
Again, I'm not advocating for it, simply trying to help.
Reading between the lines, the suggestion by [Login to see the link] is only referring to exceptionally long posts that detract from the thread.
For example, imagine you want to scroll through 10 replies to look for an answer; however, one reply is 3 pages long. Because of the sidebar-scroller (reading: x of X posts) and the lazy loading, the long posts cause a problem in people's navigation.
In short, there could be value to a hybrid idea. One where the text of the posts are not abbreviated unless they are excessively long. Therefore, 95% of the posts will not show this down-arrow. For example, only abbreviate if more than 1000 characters, which I suspect most would appreciate (and to be clear, this will abbreviate MY posts more than anyone elses, lol).
This particular error has existing for over 5 years and I'm not sure it's an "error", I think it might be with the CSS stylesheet. I'll have to check.
Please ignore the following -- this is for purposes of testing this problem to determine if it's stylesheet related (which I believe it is) and in that case, Flarum's code base isn't the issue.
- Test bullet #1
- Test bullet #2
- Unordered Test Bullet #1
- Unordered Test Bullet #2
Okay, yes, I've confirmed, it's strictly an issue with your stylesheet. The following is the source code for the text above:
<ol style="list-style-type:decimal"><li>Test bullet #1</li>
<li>Test bullet #2</li>
<li>Unordered Test Bullet #1</li>
<li>Unordered Test Bullet #2</li></ol>
Notice that the OL/UL are correctly tagged; however, the CSS simply isn't decorating.
