"Say Thank You" is missing - is this an error?

I use the brilliant "Say Thank You" functionality to mark whether I've dL'd a resource on SA,
and since the website makeover a few months ago, there are more and more times when
that icon/applet/widget functionality seems to be missing from posts - mainly on video courses/tutorials.

I've screencaped 3 different scenarios :
1) contains the applet as it (hopefully) should show up
2) shows how it changes into showing that I have clicked it "You"
3) shows what seems to be a glitch/error - it doesn't show up, and I haven't clicked anything either

Would one of the devs kindly have a look at this and let me know what seems to be happening?

robodo I've also noticed this. It looks like the system mistakenly detects the links as "dead" and removes the "Say Thank You" and adds the following:

"Request re-upload ->
It looks like all the download links are dead in this post,
try asking the author to re-upload them"

Sometimes it's correct and all links are dead, but sometimes links from RG or NF are still alive and the system fails to detect the links which are alive!

It seems to me that it just doesn't show that you said thank you, but it is in the database, so there is no thank you button.

Too late to add this edit, so I have to make a new entry - -

EDIT - also could be that when the post contains "Request re-upload" that it disables the Thank You -
and I'm noticing in a post right now that even though the Rapidgator links are Live,
the post still contains like a remnant-fragment of "Request re-upload" .

I think it's a sanet version of the Uncertainty principle. It's hard for the database to check both the user and the event at the same time. Most often it can do either one or the other. This is the reason for this and similar errors.😂

If by " it " you mean that I've supposedly already pressed the Thank You,
then that is absolutely not the case - - I've stumbled on this myself several years ago,
so I imprinted a new habit within myself of always doing things a certain way -
such that I'd never again dL something without 1st clicking "Say Thank You" -
this way I'm certain about my actions - plus - my Everything Search app
is super-configured to let me know everything that I've ever dL'd.

This is what I thought - one possibility. The second - database did not manage to check in time who you are. 🙂

ah, so it may be an interface error issue after all...
i was thinking that, for whatever reason, the site gives authors the ability to voluntarily disable the ability of users to "say thanks."

A very simple fix to my own problem .... "If in Doubt ... CLICK IT!" --->

Why didn't I ever just click the "and <xxxx> others" link to see if " I " is there? :-(
