Wow, what an amazing musical journey you have had! It's really impressive to see how you have broadened your musical knowledge and been able to play so many instruments. I bet it has been a lot of fun!
Unfortunately, I'm not a professional pianist yet, but I do have a good understanding of music theory, including 9th chords, and I can play the keyboard. I come from the Republic of Moldova, located in Eastern Europe, surrounded by Ukraine and Romania. Unfortunately, jazz isn't very popular in my country and opportunities to play or learn more about it are limited. I've been relying on the internet to learn more about jazz and expand my knowledge and listening skills. I really appreciate all the resources available online, but I still feel like there's something missing.
My musical background is rooted in classical music, where I was trained to memorize pieces and play them by heart. However, in school I played piano for 7 years before switching to the double bass, where I played in a band and discovered my love for jazz.
I've learned a few jazz pieces, such as "Summertime" by George Gershwin in a hip-hop jazz piano arrangement by Jacob Koller, and the "City of Stars" from La La Land, in an advanced jazz piano cover. My focus lately has been on improvisation using pentatonic scales in the II-IV-I progression, but I feel like something is missing and I'm not sure what it is.
I admire jazz legends like Bill Evans, Ben Webster, and Sonny Clark, and I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills and deepen my understanding of jazz. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with me, I'm sure it will be incredibly helpful."
