Partially I agree with you. They are not necessarily the same.
HR (High resolution) tells about the quality of the file, but a rip from an analogue source can be in any quality.
Vinyl rip only tells that the source is analogue like cassette rips also are.
Analogue rips (vinyl, cassette, shellac etc.) should have an independent category tag as analogue rips exists in all formats (mp3, AAC, lossless, HR).
The tag also only would tell about the source of the rip, not the source of the original recording, as everything recorded prior to the mid 1980's were recorded analogue.
Some early CD releases were marked with 3 letters (AAA, AAD, ADD or DDD) telling how the recording was processed (recording / mixing / mastering). A rip from any of those CDs is regarded as a digital rip.
