I just stumbled on another "bumped" post where several unique accounts (not shill/duplicates) were penalized for bumping.
That got me to thinking...
The purpose of Bump-Banning, is to eliminate the possibility of someone using a "shill account" to bump their own posts. It's also to reduce spam from one request constantly being bumped.
The problem is that sometimes ... more than one person wants a request and the current approach isn't fair to them.
--- Here's an idea ---
What if ... We allowed post bumping by others, when more than a week of time has passed.
This completely eliminates the problem of "shill bumping".
Why? Because a user would not need a "shill account" in order to bump in the situation where a week has passed.
This appears to be a more friendly, more collaborative, and better way to promote the most popular courses. It also reduces the amount of work that [Login to see the link] and [Login to see the link] have to do, in banning, penalizing, etc.
Please Note: I've only made one request for something I wanted, any other request has been to help someone else who didn't post correctly, etc. I'm not suggesting this feature for selfish purposes; I personally have no use for the feature. This idea is solely to help the community and moderators.
