To put it bluntly, there is no logical rwason for prices to be so high. Producers blame COVID, but that is an excuse. Most factoreis are back to full camacity, but demand for the products actually dropped, so they raised prices to create more revenue. Sure, some productivity dropped during covid because of closed factories, COVID deaths, etc, but companies stockpile months of product to cover demand, so that is NOT an issue. The blame lies in China where most production begins. THEY cut production deliberately in retaliation for being accused of setting COVID free on the world...which they did. Then you get idiots like Trump, who could not keep his big mouth shut, pissed off everyone , and the retailation was countries deciding to short-sheet the USA and not produce as much for the country. Even Silicon Valley in California cut back, Shut Trump's big mouth and you may see companies increasing production...if it is even POSSIBLE to shut down the shit coming from his lying face.
