Just to clarify.
The 12.000 limit is the autogenerated result which equals 600 pages in classic view and 240 pages in titles only view.
When you manually bypass the 12.000 posts limit, the 800 pages limitation is 16.000 posts in classic view and 40.000 posts in titles only view.
By using the filter option it's unlikely that the total amount of posts exceeds what can be included on 800 pages.
When you manually change the page number to a site exceeding the number of available posts, you will be returned to page 1.
Note that when you bypass 12.000 posts the result will show the amount of posts as "results xxxxx-12000 from 12000". When not using filter, using titles only view and manually entering page 800 the result will show as "results 39951-12000 from 12000". In classic view likewise "results 15981-12000 from 12000".
The result also indicates that an unknown amount of older posts exists, but they can't be reached as this exceeds the limitations of the page search.
Using the calendar search only works on home page and shows all posts from the chosen day or period. The limitation is 5 years. Today the limit is December 27, 2016. December 26, 2016 shows as active but the result is empty and you are returned to page 1 instead.
