well, as a novice web programmer, i never understood why web developing for most of the time seems to be one step forward and two steps back' and i'm not talking about the debugging stage. i'm not sure what funcionality have the programmers introduced that breaks stuff up, but the simple fact is the funcionality of the site today is worse then yesterday. ill explain: first it's something that most users will not experience since they use modern browsers...but...i use an old internt explorer 11, and while it's an old version sanet was working great till yesterday, yes the forums did not work but that was o.k. they hadn't worked for a while now...who cares? when i needed the forums i used another browser that was fine as it was in a way a diffrent part of the site, so there was logic behind separating the funcionality of two' or behind using technology that breaks old browsers.
that being said ..today...no more images of posts being displayed in internet explorer 11, no more links displayed when solving captcha, no more reading the comments on a post in main site' and that is just what i noticed....and all of that is due to something that was changed between yesterday and today.
i don't get it why progress is breaking old funcionality, i don't mean just on sanet, it's the sickness of almost all web developers...progress that breaks old browsers...introducing one small change in cosmetics and you broke the browser.
the minimum i would expect from the developers is having a warning appear when browsing the site is browsed with an old browser.
the big question what was changed yesterday? and was it a cosmetic change mostly? or was it something necessary?
i'm curious to know what was broken with the site and do those changes actually fix anything based on users complaints of broken funcionality of the site in past? or is it just the wave of progress?
i recall an expression often overlooked "if it aint broke dont fix it"
