It seems to me that the rules in general are hardly "oppressive." And what seems so ironic is that, in a place of massive abundance, the disgruntled break the simple rules because they are incapable of patience and want what they want when they want it, a minute after stepping into the "candy store." Sure, most people will willingly comply with a "correction" by a mod, particularly when they ignored the initial suggestion to read the rules. But there are plenty who will continue to defy and argue, no matter how benign and inoffensive the rule and a correction might be. How are they best managed? Exactly as they are currently managed, warned and then banned. The fact is, they are best gone for everyone's benefit because, as anyone around here for a while knows, what you need and request eventually - and usually sooner than later - will be posted by a helpful member of the community, without necessitating 76 posts attempting to "debate" how to manage disruptive, disrespectful people who refuse to follow a few simple rules.
