As I said in PM, it wasn't meant to be insulting or demeaning, and I honestly forgot that you wrote it!๐คฆโโ๏ธ You've read the reams of drivel I write, so you know I can sound accidentally abrasive. Oddly enough, though, I got to thinking and you're thread about Freeware would have gotten a ๐ฟ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ response 20-25 years ago.
[Login to see the link] & icemanx will remember some of the ultra-craptasticness of freeware up to and through WinXP (Linux was too geeked back then). I got burned soooooo many times with cheapo viruses from "Try the this AWESOME freeware!" ๐ก There was NOTHING that was comparative to Blender, BforArtists, Gimp, etc--freeware was sad and like a whipped dog. If wasn't full of viruses, it was full of bad code. There were no sites like alternative.to

When I read this, " ๐ข๐ต ๐ช๐ต๐ด ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ ๐ค๐ณ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐จ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ด ๐ญ๐ช๐ฌ๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐, ๐๐๐, ๐๐๐, ๐ก๐๐," I searched around for a CORE keygen to run it and hear the ear-screeching midi music. ๐ No matter what, when I ran a CORE keygen, I'd somehow have my volume waaaayyyy up, and then BOOM! I'd about piss myself!๐คฏ You listed 6 of the BEST OF THE BEST! Remember the pretty .NFO files?
Sadly, there are some fakers out their using CORE, and everything they produce are trojans or other malware. I like you idea of setting a system restore point.๐ค

๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐จ๐-๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐ฎ: In the 90's, I had a workout partner that worked on the "Big Iron" fixing Cobol, Pascal, all the old stuff. He told a story about this Soviet ex-pat he met a conference. The Soviets would drop off parts of these old IBM mainframes and tell the scientists, "Fix and make work NOW!"
Slight problem: rarely were there any manuals, and NONE in Russian. Sooo....these guys, nay, these fucking computer engineering/programming studs would REVERSE-ENGINEER almost everything from scratch. My workout partner had more, but I was always just stunned at how these guy reversed-engineered "something" from "nothing."
tuskacz1 when you say some of the new stuff is nearly impossible to reverse-engineer, I say, "Nyet!" (my great-grandfather is Russian). Remember when "Voksi" was humiliating Denuvo--the super-duper "unhackable" DRM? ๐คฃ I think CPY (Conspiracy) has picked up the sledgehammer and is going to town on Denuvo now.
I'll caveat the above by saying my dumbass can't even do a fixin' for Enscape 2.9---when I know the EXACT files used in the Enscape 2.8 fixin', and basically know "what" to fix, but Mr. Retarded can't figure out the "how"! Pretty fucking sad my first fixin' was for a hardware dongle locked software using a DOS Hex Editor in '97, and I can't even properly crack apart those stupid DAZ Studio .EXE files! ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ซ
Luv you, guys!
