Following the albums "Swan Lake" and "Sleeping Beauty," the new album completes the trilogy of Tchaikovsky's music arranged by Estonian conductor Kristjan Järvi. The first two albums of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic under Järvi were internationally praised: "Brilliantly orchestrated throughout and also extremely catchy melodically - some pieces have downright earworm character" (Fono Forum), "wild dances, igniting rhythms, fulminant choruses and soulfully poetic moments" (Audio)

For the new album, Järvi has taken the highlights of Tchaikovsky's famous ballet music "The Nutcracker," edited and rearranged them. But there is also music that Järvi has newly composed, such as the opening piece "Welcome to Wonderland," which gently leads listeners into the beautiful winter realm of The Nutcracker. Popular original pieces such as the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" and the "Snowflake Waltz," iconic scenes and dances, as well as arrangements such as the "Grandfather Dance" are distilled in this captivating new version of this famous masterpiece, transforming Tchaikovsky's most beloved ballet music into a magical, musical journey.
